A few players have reported that when trying to redeem a gift via a link in their EverMerge Email Newsletter, the link sends them to the App Store, instead of into the game.
Our team has found that using certain web browsers, or having certain device Settings selected, can cause this error to occur.
If you're experiencing the issue described above, we'd suggest trying the following steps. If the first doesn't work, try the next, and so on:
1. Manually Copy/Paste the Reward Link
- Open the newsletter on the device you use to play EverMerge
- Instead of tapping on the Grab Them button, tap and hold it (to select the text information there)
- Choose to copy the selected text when the option appears
- Paste the copied information into your web browser URL box and choose to travel to that URL for the reward link
- If on iOS, we suggest pasting into the default Safari web browser app
- If on Android, we suggest pasting into Google Chrome
- At this point, EverMerge will hopefully open, and then show your reward
2. Make sure you're browser is not set to 'Private' or 'Incognito' Mode when attempting to copy/paste the reward link
3. iOS - Check your Browser Settings
- Open the Settings app on your device
- Tap Safari along the left
- In the General section, turn off the Block Pop-ups option
- Scroll down to the Privacy & Security section and look for the following settings:
- Hide IP Address - this should be set to Off
- Prevent Cross-Site Tracking - this option should be turned off
- Hide IP Address - this should be set to Off
5. Once you have changed those settings, be sure to completely close and reopen your browser as well. Then try redeeming the gift link one more time
